The Vintage Carboy Lamp
£240.00
FROM THE 20TH CENTURY, WITH LOVE.
Derived from the Persian ‘qaraba’ meaning ‘big jug’, the glass carboy is a unique specimen of industrial heritage. These carboys were mainly used for carrying and storing reactive or corrosive chemicals, acids and distilled water for batteries till the mid 20th century.
These carboys are from a rare lot salvaged from an industrial unit in Lahore, Pakistan. They are fitted with a removable and bespoke, hand-turned wooden stopper which houses the high quality brass fittings.
